Are You Butting Heads With You?

butting heads with you and you

Are You Butting Heads With You?

Do these things sound familiar?

  • You declare that you are going on a diet…but within a few weeks it has lost it’s flavor?
  • You want to start exercising and getting in shape…but there just never seems to be enough time to fit it into your schedule?
  • You say that you need more money…but deep down believe that money is hard to come by?
  • You want happiness, joy and love in your life…but spend most of your time talking about what’s not showing up for you on Facebook with your friends?
  • You hate your job and your boss and your co-workers could use some serious therapy…but you stay there because you say you are stuck and you can’t find anything else to go to?

Ok, it happens…things don’t always go the way we plan, so don’t beat yourself up too badly. But if it seems that not much is going right with you, you may want to take a closer look at why this could be happening.

What if?

What if there was a way to come into alignment with what we SAY we want and what we actually DO want? If we could pin point that thing that we keep doing that prevents us from getting what we want – life would start to get better beginning TODAY!  Sound good?  Are you still with me?  Okay…

Oh, This is so good!

I want to share with you a quote from the book The Vortex, Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships, by Esther and Jerry Hicks, The Teachings of Abraham, that is so good, I couldn’t have said it better myself!  Here it is:

“So, what’s the hold up?  ‘I don’t like this, and I don’t like this, and I don’t like this, and I don’t like this.’  Really…insignificant, unimportant, petty little things that you’re using, from your day-to-day experience–that you’re using as your excuse not to get in the Vortex.” (Vortex being your happy place!)  “When you could just as easily look for a hopeful thought as a pessimistic thought. You could just as easily look for a compliment as something derogatory. You could just as easily prasie your government…no, let’s start with something easier. [Fun]  You could just as easily look for a reason to feel good as a reason to feel bad.”

Do you see a pattern here?  Excuses that we use continually to keep us from being, doing or having what we SAY we want…but not ALLOWING ourselves to get it!  Sounds kinda crazy doesn’t it?

I’ve Been There!

Oh, believe me I’ve been there!!! I’ve repeated all those excuses over and over again! But one day…it finally became clear to me that…

“Until I come into alignment with who I really am and what I REALLY want in my life, I will never feel good and be able to live the joyous life that I crave so much.” – Me

Am I acting perfectly every day?  Not by a long shot!  I’m not striving for perfection anymore.  But what I am doing is reaching for something that makes me feel good!  Every day gets better and better, because when I feel that old pattern returning, I shift my thoughts, my attitude and my focus…to what would make me feel good in that moment.

So where do we go from here?

Take your power back!  When we place the blame on others for our personal situation, we give away our power to change it and to move forward.  DECIDE TODAY that YOU are in control of what happens in your life…that YOU are the creator of your own reality and that when YOU BELIEVE THAT…things will start getting better for you right now!

How do I take my power back?

By reaching for that better feeling thought as often as you can each day.  Say to yourself, “I can wallow in my discomfort and continue to feel powerless or I can believe that I am THE ONE  in control of my own reality and begin to build the reality and life that I want!” Still feeling a little stuck?

Feeling Stuck

Don’t be too hard on yourself as you move along this emotional journey.  Have patience with yourself.  And whatever you do…when you slide back into that place of doing THAT THING YOU DO…DO NOT beat yourself up!  We all have those times when we feel things aren’t working out for us. But beating ourselves up or giving up is NOT an option if you REALLY want to live the life that you deserve!  So, Be Kind to Yourself, Be Persistent & Never, EVER Give UP!

More to come on this subject…stay tuned!!
