When You are Tired of the Struggle

by Mindy Kaleta on January 4, 2016

What do you wantto feel good about in 2016When You are Tired of the Struggle…

I don’t know about you, but although 2015 was filled with amazing breakthroughs, dreams realized and decisions made that I had been procrastinating on…I was still learning how to stop the struggle and relax.

There were a few curve balls thrown at our family in 2015 that we weren’t prepared for too, which made my learning how to stop struggling even more challenging! Let alone relaxing into it!

Stop the struggle and relax???  You may be asking, how in the world can you stop struggling and relax? What good does that do? How will I ever get to where I want to be, do what I’ve always dreamed of without struggle?  Isn’t that how’s it’s done?

Well, I’ve got good news for you! It’s NOT how it’s done if you want to live a life filled with joy on your way to what you want!

Yes, I’ll admit and agree with you that struggling certainly CAN get you to what you want if you are determined enough to sacrifice your time, energy and yes, sometimes your health to get there! You definitely have that choice. But what I found was that by “forcing it”, “making it happen” or any other determined focus like that only left me exhausted, weepy and hearing myself mutter the same words time and time again, “I try so hard! Why aren’t things working out for me? What more can I do?”

My December 2015 realization

During the month of December things get crazier than usual with all the holidays, celebrations, get-t0gethers, cooking, shopping on top of what you normally do. And it started off that way for me too.

But as the month progressed I kept seeing more facebook posts, more emails, more messages coming to me from TV, movies, mentors, business associates, books about doing things the hard way and why that’s not necessarily a good thing!

Yes, we’ve been taught from the time we are wee ones, to work hard, play only when the work is done (but it never seems to be done, so of course no time for play)!

But lately I’ve been questioning, “Why am I working SO HARD?” Why am I putting myself through all this? For what?

And better yet, what results have I gotten by working so hard?

In my personal life and my business life, working hard certainly didn’t bring the joy that I was looking for!

This December…I felt a shift.

I found several mentors who had tested this theory and were living the life I wanted to live.

They are women who know who they are and what they want for their lives, but there was something different about them.

They didn’t:

  • push themselves
  • beat themselves up about things
  • work hard at it
  • and didn’t push others to work hard either

But they were:

  • successful business owners
  • loved what they did
  • did what they love
  • without apology
  • working less
  • enjoying life and their businesses more
  • listened to their heart about what was right for them
  • creating the reality they wanted to see!

I was hooked!  I know that I “knew” these concepts, but I hadn’t really “embraced” them into my lifestyle.

The timing was perfect…I was ready to listen…and to implement this lifestyle in a bigger way!

I decided I wanted 2016 to be:

  • lighter
  • more fun
  • more like me
  • with more ease and flow
  • more freedom
  • and a whole lot more JOY!

I sat myself down and wrote out (by the way I need to get a new journal-note to self) how I wanted to feel in 2016.

I wrote it in detail, scripting it’s called; a process many use to gain clarity around what it is they want and more importantly, how they want to feel going forward in their business and life.

What a difference it makes!

When you are clear, focused and sure about what you want to see in your life but add the feeling portion as well, wow!

Life takes on a whole new dimension!

What do you want your life to look and feel like in 2016?

I want to invite you to write down three things that you would like to feel differently about in 2016.

For example:

  1. I want to feel good about my body
  2. I want to feel good when I go to work
  3. I want to feel closer to my family

And then write out what would feeling good about your body look like.

  • I would feel strong
  • I would be free of pain
  • I would have more energy

What would work feel like if you loved going?

  • It feels like home
  • It feels fun!
  • It feels like me…it IS me!

And so on!  Try it!  I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how differently your three things look and feel to you!

Now, it’s your turn! Feel free to add more than three to your list if you want. No pressure! No expectations!  Do what feels good to you!

I would love to hear more about your plans for 2016!

Hop on over to my Facebook page Ladybugs-A-Plenty! and send me a message or comment on what’s important to you in 2016!

I can’t wait to hear!
