Faithfulness is unfailing loyalty to someone or something;
putting loyalty into consistent practice
no matter what the circumstances (Wikipedia)
The many faces of Faithfulness…
“oh, let me count the ways!”
as we go about our lives, faithfulness steps in
to give us numerous opportunities to show up
Here are a few…
in our house my husband and I are a team
“with the easy and the difficult…it’s youz ‘n meez”
whatever life brings, we are there for each other
no matter what!
Moms & Dads –
Kids need to know Mom & Dad are there for them
raising kids can be one of the biggest challenges of your life
but also brings the grandest and sweetest memories
no matter how old they get, they will always be your “babies”
Kids show faithfulness by honoring their parents
they also play an important role as brother or sister
a family unit always experiences the push and pull of views
but is a safe place to learn healthy ins and outs of faithfulness
Family Pets –
Animals are notorious for going the extra mile for their human
they depend on you and in return give you bunches of love
if you have to leave them while at work, school or play
they will wait all day, just to welcome you home!
Whether it’s in a family unit
or with extended family, friends or community
relationships depend on being faithful
showing up, being there and loving through it all
I don’t always hit my mark, but I show up each day
with intentions to be true to my word,
keeping my promises, standing up and doing the right thing
and when there is conflict, I intend to “love them anyway”
He is the very essence of Faithfulness
even when we are faithless, He is Faithful
so many times in my life I have fallen short
and each and every time, He was there
He guides me through the rough times
comforts me when I can’t stop crying
I not always get what I want or ask for…
but He always gives me what is best for me
He is my Abba, Father, I am His adopted daughter
He loves me with an everlasting love
I am safe in His will, not mine
How great is His Faithfulness!
A psalm of David
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
2 When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident.
Psalm 27: 1-3
14 Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
