When Fear Grips your Soul, Look for the JOY!
We all know the elephant in the room, as we are isolated from family, friends, work and the little pleasures we used to enjoy right now.
I can hear you saying…”Mindy, I’m scared and I just don’t see the joy in this.”
Even when the media is terrifying, we can “look for healthy distractions to fill our hearts with JOY!”
I know, I’m with you. I suffer from anxiety and have had numerous panic attacks since I was seven years old, so if you are experiencing anxiety, I definitely get it. I really do!
Recently, and most definitely with this crisis of COVID-19, I’ve realized that I am not in control. Not one of us can stop this pandemic short of doing our part in applying the restraints from the professionals in fighting this virus.
Looking for some healthy distractions to take your mind off what’s going on in the world to get your balance, can make a big difference.
What brings you joy? For me, I’m finding a lot of joy doodling this little girl character. I find myself looking forward to creating her for the next post. It’s such a simple thing, but as she appears on my drawing paper, she makes me smile and giggle as she shows a little more of her personality each time.
I just want to leave you with some wisdom that may give you some comfort on what it means to look for healthy distractions. I hope you find PEACE in finding YOUR JOY!
“Finally, brothers (or sisters), whatever is true,
whatever is honorable,
whatever is just,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.”

This is our cat Maggie Moo. She’s on top of the entertainment center!
What you can’t see is our dog Roc who gave her a reason to hop up there! LOL
Until next time…stay safe and sane. lol (this is a reminder for me too!) 🙂
