Meet the Kaleta Gang
Mindy is a “farm girl” at heart and feels most at home while mothering animals, rearranging and decorating their home, re-purposing home decor pieces, journaling, reading, connecting with friends/family and doodling! (Her new hobby!)
Mindy’s always been drawn to the country life. At a young age, she was raising her pet rooster in the backyard in the city, making horse halters for her dogs, caring for a number of various other animals and fish.
She is busy right now mothering their three indoor cats (Katie Lynn, Maggie Moo and Miley Girl) and our adopted stray kitty Punkin with a big personality to round off our family!
Don Kaleta
Don worked for AT&T for 36 years. After an early retirement, he has served as a Facility Maintenance Director in a number of senior living communities.
Don is a regular guy who loves kids, animals and helping people. Due to his inability to be nothing other than a kid in a grownup body, Puppy Scents, The Kids’ Guide to Puppy Care was born. His out-of-the-ordinary sense of humor and his quirky way of looking at life is evident in the writing of this book with his narrator, our dog, Roc Weiler. Don is passionate about lessons learned in relationships between kids and pups. Roc’s story is filled with life lessons for every child. To see Don’s Book, Click Here!
In addition to his talents in facilities and writing, Don also loves music, plays several instruments and at any moment during the day you can hear music coming from various parts of the house.
Meet the Rest of Our Family!
Roc – Narrator of Don’s book Puppy Scents, The Kids’ Guide to Puppy Care, (3/2010-6/2020)
Sadly we had to say goodbye and sent our sweet “bubbie” Roc to Heaven in June of 2020. We miss him terribly, but hope that his mission will go on “to help kids and pups form forever friendships so that no more dogs have to be alone, scared or homeless.”
Miss Chloe – Official Greeter at the front door. On January 28, 2021 our beautiful Chloe went to meet Roc at the gate in Heaven. It’s so hard to lose your beloved furkids. But we have a hope, we will see Roc and Chloe someday again.
Katie Lynn, Maggie Moo and little Miley Girl – Our three sweet girls who make sure we are taking time out of our busy day to remember what is important
Punkin – (below) Our newest adoptive daughter, beginning to know what it means to belong
